On September 27th and 28th, over seventy human rights leaders nationwide met in NYC for a highly-anticipated meeting: Communication Strategies to Ensure Human Rights in the U.S. Hosting organizations included Breakthrough, Opportunity Agenda, The Spin Project and WITNESS. The event was funded by the US Human Rights Fund. Over the course of two days, presenters discussed key findings on human rights messaging research and new media tools that can enhance human rights work. Breakthrough staff members gave presentations on web 2.0 dissemination strategies, blog outreach, social issue gaming and online video.
