Breakthrough's Executive Director, Mallika Dutt, presents at the University of Michigan as a Twink Frey Visiting Social Activist. She will discuss how Breakthrough builds a human rights culture by using cultural forms of expression to promote human rights values in diverse cultural contexts.

Using two of Breakthrough's multi-media efforts - a path-breaking music video on violence against women in India and a cutting-edge video game on immigrant detention and deportation in the U.S.. Dutt will demonstrate how all cultures embody values that both violate and promote human rights.

Location: University of Michigan, Center for the Education of Women, 330 E. Liberty Street

Date: Wednesday, March 25, 2009
