Barnali is coordinator of Breakthrough’s program addressing the issue of gender-biased sex selection. She brings to Breakthrough extensive experience in training activists to document human rights abuses and conduct advocacy campaigns. She studied Sociology (Hons) in Shillong, and Masters in Social Work in Delhi. Prior to coming to Breakthrough, Barnali worked with Urivi Vikram Charitable Trust and The Naz Foundation Trust, and has field work experience with different institutions such as the SHAFA Home, Kripa Foundation, Action North-east Trust, and Mobile Creshes. She hails from Bongaigaon, a small town in Assam. She also likes to go for shopping and exploring new eating joints.
