Tierney oversees Breakthrough’s U.S. office’s finances, development, data management, and operations.  Over the past decade, she has worked at a variety of progressive organizations including Tides Foundation, Colin Higgins Foundation, Ms. Foundation for Women, and City Harvest. She is a former board member of Third Wave Foundation.  She earned her BA in women’s studies and a certificate in film criticism from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She is a Gene Kelly aficionado and a proud aunt of nine.
