On October 17, 2008 Nobel Laureate,Amartya Sen was presented with the Breakthrough Inspiration Award and shared his words of wisdom at the Fourth Annual Let's Breakthrough Together Gala.

Breakthrough’s “Let’s Breakthrough Together” Benefit Gala is held annually in New York City. The past galas have both educated and entertained audiences with dancers, comedians, and video productions highlighting the work we’ve done in both the U.S. and India.
