Betsy, a European American, fell in love with a man from Italy and they started a family. He felt American– he lived in the U.S for decades, was a legal permanent resident, was married to an American Citizen, and had citizen children. Yet when he was arrested, their life spiraled out of control–he was deported to Italy.
